I know that in several years, we will have to move again, unfortunately. Laws in Flanders require that all houses need to become low energy emission by 2050, which means that 99% of all houses need VERY costly work done to it, if not torn down even. Never mind what my opinion about this is, I do not want to start a debate about that, let's just say that as a law abiding citizen, I have no option left than to move, even out of the country.
Our house is already insulated properly, yet not enough to what the government wants by then. We can't ever afford that in this house and it will be too invasive whilst we live in it. Besides, some warmer weather in winter performs miracles for most of my chronic illnesses.
I have moved a lot in life, due to work and misfortune, so I have become some sort of a moving expert, lol. I also have to admit that I am frightfully anally organized, so it's actually easy to do so. This time, however, there will be a new challenge added to it, which is moving JollyOaksField, our large Sylvanian village.
Storing the big items won't be a problem in large crates, but the small ones requires multiple small boxes ending up in big crates, to keep settings together. I went for transparent plastic shoe boxes. I have 10 each in 7 colors (white was also an option), so I can also divide the items into color groups, which makes unpacking much easier. Dead cheap, sturdy, stackable, offers view of what is inside, and they store flat until the moment I need them. Mine don't have a "finger grab hole", which is even better, but this was a decent pic to show you the idea. It seems like a plan.
